This is the new track from The Artless Pursuit of Excellence, which is me and my wife Helen. So far we are sticking to our plan of releasing a track on the 7th of every month, though this only episode 2. Stay tuned.

Notable features: This track is underlaid by a nice little phasing figure, because apparently I can’t help myself. Three synths play simple rhythms, but each at slightly different speeds, causing them to tumble in and out of various rhythmic patterns. Listen out for the end where they all line up.

Aside from that it’s sort of just a nice dream-pop ballad. Except that most of it is in 7/4… but the chorus is pure 4/4 pop hook heaven.
